The Overslept Flip
Every lab has its experiments… and every CTO has their moments.
Today’s ProspHER Tech meeting was set for 2pm sharp. Except I woke up at 2:30. By the time I joined, Sandra and the team were mid-chat about “confusion” around my role, communication, and whether much progress was really happening.
So I did what every good CTO does: flipped the narrative.
✨ Step 1 – Reframe the lane.
I explained that my work is lab-based. It’s not always visible day-to-day — because I’m building systems, testing ideas, and structuring solutions behind the scenes. Silence doesn’t mean nothing is happening; it means the lab is in motion.
✨ Step 2 – Show the receipts
.I updated them on the big three:
ProspHER Quest mapped.
ProspHER Fest lined.
ProspHER Wish designed.
All of it already logged and living in the Hub.
✨ Step 3 – Drop the Hub.
I made it clear: the Hub isn’t just my playground. It’s the translator. This is where the chaos becomes clarity — Trello boards, progress logs, and blueprints that investors, interns, and team members can access.
✨ Step 4 – Make it bigger than me
.I showed them how the Hub is future-proofed for apprenticeships, interns, and funding projects — scaling far beyond a single person’s updates.
⚡ The result?
Confusion turned into confidence.Doubt turned into excitement.“What’s Maz even doing?” became: “Wow, the CTO’s already mapped the future.”
Sometimes you miss the alarm. But if the work is real, the updates undeniable, and the vision clear — you don’t just catch up… you flip the whole room.
